In the greater Seattle area there have been increasing numbers of high school drop outs, drugs, gang violence and pregnancy amongst our disadvantage youth and young adults. In the neighborhoods surrounding the inner city of Southeast Seattle there are less resources providing services to meet this needs.
As a means of responding to these great needs, it is necessary to have a place that can offer refuge and opportunity through love, support, self esteem and community.
CHAMPS provides a safe haven for community members to develop to become self sufficient, nurturing and productive adults. Through life and social skills, leadership and community building, that can strengthen personal relationships with faith, self, community and others.

CHAMPS is committed in establishing an ongoing board of directors that will provide guidance and leadership, developing partnerships and network building with a wide variety of community and school-base resources; Parks & Recreation and other family centers, increase community outreach engaging in diverse families, assist with advocacy, public information and referral and recreational and social activities, provide workshops and other support services. Our intent is to challenge youth and their families and inspire them to pursue their vision and to live their dreams of excellence by bringing them the skills, support and resources they need to become confident, knowledgeable and to enhance their life skills, self-sufficiency, social competence leading to stronger individuals, families and communities.

CHAMPS RESOURCE & SERVICE CENTER
We believe that youth and disadvantaged young adults face a wide variety of personal, mental, emotional and financial challenges and they need a caring, encouraging, resourceful and supportive environment that they can come for support services. Many times they are in an environment that is threatening for one reason or another. For that reason CHAMPS RSC is designed as a fun, learning interactive outreach where they can make a change in their lives, making positive choices, building stronger relationships, skills and confidence, social service support and a readiness to succeed in life.
CHAMPS works by networking and collaborating with community to motivate a change of habits for all people of color who wants to develop life-long change in their family relationships, faith, self, community and others.
